job description:

The SeaGrille Server & Sommelier will be expected to complete job duties as requested in a prompt and organized fashion, abiding by the standard checklist and quality specifications as provided by the restaurant manager. 

·          Welcome guests upon arrival and provide courteous, professional service throughout

·          Be passionate about food & wine culture

·          Present menus, make wine recommendations and answer questions regarding food and beverages

·          Complete guest requests in a timely and efficient manner

·          Complete customer POS transactions

·          Communicate with the kitchen and bar staff for quality assurance

·          Liaise with the Restaurant Manager regarding guest feedback

·          Provide exceptional table-side service to all guests

·          Ensure compliance with provincial/territorial liquor legislation and regulations

·          Deliver ongoing wine education and training for our hospitality team

·          Maintain a good working relationship with all departments

·          Practice safe work environment standards and uphold safety guidelines

·          Complete all other duties as assigned

job requirements

·          Serving It Right certificate

·          Minimum 5 years experience in a fine dining restaurant

·          Sommelier certification with extensive wine knowledge preferably in BC wines.  Possess a wide base knowledge of the various types of spirits, liqueurs, and cocktail recipes

·          POS experience 

·          Flexible schedule

·          Command of the English language, both written and oral

·          Outstanding organizational, time management, and interpersonal skills

·          Work well independently and in a team environment with minimum supervision
