Summary
The Assistant Store Manager is responsible for contributing to the operating results of the store and the maintenance of excellent operating standards. This includes the planning, organizing, directing and evaluation of the store’s operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the store manager in maintaining strong customer relations through effective training and supervision
- Assist the store manager and training coordinator in hiring and onboarding new team members
- Assess performance of clerks and supervisors, supports the store manager in training, discipline, and feedback
- Collaborate with store manager with the preparation of the 4-week inventory and scheduling budgets and the ongoing review of results
- Order products according to the established amounts, order dates, receiving dates and costs, allocating ordering responsibilities and working with the head buyer
- Ensure all products are merchandised in a clear and attractive manner
- Ensure all product received have been signed in and stored in a professional manner and in accordance with company policy
- Support the store manager and operations manager with product price verification schedule
- Conduct periodical inventory as assigned by the store manager
Other Related Duties
- May require modifying schedule to ensure sufficient coverage of duties, and maintain high levels of customer service
- Ensure that the store is kept to a high standard of cleanliness at all times
- Maintain high productivity levels and creates efficiencies through proper delegation and management of team
Working Conditions
- Standing / Moving for 8 hours a day / 5 days a week
- Working some weekends
- Lifting and/or carrying merchandise up to 25lbs on a frequent Basis
- Lifting above the shoulder
Core Competencies
- Interpersonal communication
- Task management
- Liquor industry knowledge
- Retail sales experience: 3+ years
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite (primarily Excel)
- Liquor sales: 1+ year
Minimum Requirements
- Must be 19+ years of age
- Must have a valid Serving It Right
The position requirements are subject to change as the role and needs of the business evolve.
$26.50 per hour with annual bonuses based off store performance and other metrics
