Trail Estate Winery is an exciting and dynamic winery located in Prince Edward County. As Ontario’s premiere low-intervention winery we make many zero additive wines like pet nats and orange wines as well as classic Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Cabernet Franc. We farm our vineyard sustainably, growing premium grapes on beautiful limestone soils.
We are looking to grow our reach and are looking for (a) Sales Rep(s) — primarily in the GTA and Hamilton areas but also other parts of Southwestern Ontario: i.e. KW/Guelph, Stratford, Collingwood, etc. Prevously, the majority of licencee sales were handled internally, and so we are looking at a significant expansion of sales.
The ideal candidate has excellent communcation skills, a passion for and demonstrated excellence in wine sales, and is client- and results-focussed with a long-term outlook, and an eye towards sustainability.
Responsibilities:

Drive sales through existing relationships with clients

Build and cultivate new accounts — restaurants, bottle shops, event venues, hotels, private clubs, private label

Conduct outreach, tastings, sales calls, follow-ups

Ability to stress farming and winemaking approach; appreciation and understanding of low-intervention wines is critical.

Achieve and exceed sales targets
- Stay up-to-date on wine and industry trends/developments

Assist in communications and social media elements.

Collaborate with winemaking and management on market segmentation, needs and product planning/development.

Assist in coordination of market activities including dinners and tasting events; providing added value and cross-benefit opportunities
Requirements:
• 1-2+ years of sales experience in the wine industry
• Wine education (e.g., WSET, CSW, Sommelier certification)
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
• Achieve and exceed sales targets and profitability (in relation to market)
• Familiarity with local and international wine scene and industry trends with a particualar focus or interest in lo-fi wines
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Keep immaculate records of accounts/communications
• Valid Ontario driver's license and access to a vehicle as required (travel required)
• Ability to lift and carry 25kg
• Smart Serve Certification
Preferred Qualifications:
• Social media and marketing skills
• Proficiency in Excel/Google, Quickbooks, CRM, etc
