We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Portfolio Development Ambassador to join our team. In this role, you will be coordinating and executing all media relations activities for the Select Vins Advini (SVA) portfolio. Moreover, you will be building sales in the on-trade channel through product knowledge training and in-field support.
Job Responsibilities:
- Build relationships with wine journalists, bloggers, influencers, and lifestyle media to secure coverage, reviews, and features that enhance the reputation of SVA brands
- Organize and promote tastings, launch events, and wine dinners that target consumers, media and trade
- Conduct product knowledge training for Select Wines and Lifford sales teams
- Liaise with the wine houses to source necessary samples, brand and company information relevant to in market needs and tool development
- Support the On-Premise sales teams through in-field visits and execution in restaurants which would include pre-shift training, customer tastings, winemaker dinners and related events
- As the market evolves and allows for the proliferation of fine wine boutiques and bottle shops, assist the sales team with buyer tastings and consumer sampling
- Based on in-field experience, identify new portfolio opportunities
- General reporting and ground level forecasting
- Sales tool development
- Other responsibilities as assigned
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications/skill set:
· 3-5 years of experience in premium wine sales/marketing and hospitality
· Knowledge and understanding of the Ontario liquor market
· Understanding of the wine media landscape in English Canada, specifically Ontario
· Experience with influential selling, closing and account maintenance
· Ability to leverage sales data, to develop insights and action plans
· Experience with generating sales performance reports
· Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote) required
· Experience with EZ Focus, Power BI, Cognos, or Familiarity with LCBO systems considered an asset.
· Excellent written and verbal communication
· CSW or WSET Level 3 essential, WSET Diploma or Sommelier Certification ideal
· Valid ON driver’s license and dependable vehicle
· Current Smart Serve Certification
· Bilingual (French and English) considered a strong asset
· Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position including lifting wine cases (approx. 50 lbs) and ability to stand for extended periods of time as well as navigating stairs
· Flexibility for evening and weekend work hours
