We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Portfolio Development Specialist to join our team in Ontario. In this field-based role, you will support the Select Wines Sales team with the Advini portfolio in LCBO and Grocery retail locations. Through your go-getter attitude, excellent collaboration skills and solution-oriented mindset, you will play a role in developing points of distribution in both LCBO and Grocery Channels to meet and exceed our annual sales objectives. Your portfolio understanding will be vital in conducting product knowledge training for the sales organization, consumers and customers.
Job Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Select Wine Sales Manager and Sales Team to coordinate in field activities including tastings, inter store transfers, merchandizing and distribution development
- Liaise with the Canadian Marketing team to source necessary product, brand and company information relevant to in-market needs and tool development.
- Support the existing Select Wines Sales team with the Advini portfolio in LCBO and Grocery retail locations in multiple capacities
- Work with sales manager to identify incremental opportunities for sales and distribution
- Assist the sales team in generating points of distribution in retail locations.
- Merchandise stores according to approved programs
- Conduct in-store tastings with managers, store staff, and product consultants
- Conduct consumer in-store tastings.
- Participate in consumer events and trade shows.
- Conduct sales team tastings and training for new releases and vintage transitions
- Make calls as directed to achieve sales targets.
- General reporting and ground level forecasting
- Sales tool development
- Other responsibilities as assigned
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications/skill set:
· 2-3 years of experience in beverage alcohol, with specific experience in wine and LCBO retail or grocery merchandising.
· Knowledge and understanding of the Ontario liquor market is essential
· Experience with influential selling, closing and account maintenance
· Ability to leverage sales data, to develop insights and action plans
· Experience with generating sales performance reports
· Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote)
· Experience with EZ Focus, Power BI, Cognos, or Familiarity with LCBO systems considered an asset.
· Exemplary customer service skills: including regular contact/communication, problem solving, follow through and attention to detail
· Excellent written and verbal communication
· Wine passionate with ideally CSW, WSET Level 3+ or Sommelier Certification
· Valid ON driver’s license and dependable vehicle
· Current Smart Serve Certification
· Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position including lifting 50 lbs., ability to stand for extended periods of time as well as navigating stairs
· Flexibility for evening and weekend work hours
