Summerhill Pyramid Winery in Kelowna is seeking a Winery Bookkeeper / Assistant CFO. Our family owned, dynamic and multi-faceted winery has been established and well known as one of Canada’s top, organic and bio-dynamic wineries for over three decades.
This is a fulltime, permanent, onsite position. Reporting directly to the CFO, the right candidate will be a self-motivated, positive individual with excellent leadership and communication skills. You are an analytical thinker and a team player with sound knowledge of accounting principles and office procedures. To possess strong knowledge of inventory management, be tech savvy and have experience with QBO and Microsoft Office is essential. Minimum three years of experience in a similar role is required. Experience in the wine and/or hospitality industry as well as formal training in accounting is preferred.
A summary of ongoing responsibilities are as follows:
· Accountable for the day-to-day operations of the finance department.
· Close monitoring of accounting records and transactions.
· Monthly bank and credit card reconciliations.
· Monthly inventory reconciliation.
· Internal Financial reporting.
· Completion of government surveys.
· Assisting the CFO with cost accounting and inventory management.
· Assisting the CFO in the preparation of the year end.
· Work closely with the CFO on systems and operations.
· Completing projects and tasks as assigned by the CFO.
Compensation and benefits are based on experience and qualifications and will be discussed at the interview.
