Located in the scenic Okanagan Valley, Lass Chance Beverage Co. is dedicated to crafting high-quality ciders using the finest local ingredients. As we grow, we are looking to add a Cider Maker to our passionate team. This role is ideal for someone with foundational experience in cider, wine or beer making who is eager to expand their knowledge and expertise under the guidance of our Head Cider Maker.
Job Summary:
The Cider Maker will support our production processes from apple selection through to juicing, fermentation and bottling/canning. This position is designed for a candidate who is enthusiastic about cider making and is looking for an opportunity to develop their skills in a supportive and dynamic environment.
This is an opportunity to work in a beverage manufacturing company, making truly exceptional apple-based products such as fruit juices, sodas and ciders. You will learn how we make our unique beverages, responsible for the day-to-day production ranging from juice blending, fermentation, maturation, packaging and getting the product out the door. You will learn and adhere to all beverage making and cider making specific standard operating procedures, quality control processes, and sanitation practices.
Responsibilities:
● Assist in all stages of the cider production process, including pressing, fermentation, blending, and bottling.
● Monitor cider maturation processes and maintain detailed production logs.
● Perform quality control tests and adjust production methods to meet quality standards.
● Collaborate with the Head Cider Maker to develop new cider varieties and improve existing recipes.
● Maintain cleanliness and organization of the production area according to safety and sanitary standards.
● Assist in sourcing and selecting high-quality ingredients.
● Participate in cider tastings and provide input on product development.
● Support the Head Cider Maker in inventory management, ordering supplies and order fulfillment.
Qualifications:
● 2 - 4+ years of experience in cider making, brewing, or a related field.
● Strong foundational knowledge of fermentation science.
● Keen interest in developing further expertise in cider production.
● Experience with brewing management software is a bonus.
● Ability to work flexibly, including weekends, when necessary.
● Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
● Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
● Physical capability to lift heavy materials and stand for prolonged periods.

Compensation: Is commensurate with work experience and education, ranging from $65k - $70k base salary per year.
