Vineyard Assistant / Worker

Chaberton Estate Winery, the oldest and largest estate winery in the Fraser Valley is seeking a Vineyard Worker to support our Vineyard Manager in our operations. Located on 55 acres in Langley BC, with over 40 acres under cultivation, the job entails Vineyard work as well as maintaining the landscaping of the property.  Working under the direction of the Vineyard Manager, duties include:

 

·        Pruning, pulling, and tying

·        Suckering, shoot-thinning, cluster thinning, and leaf removal

·        Tractor work using multiple implements for different tasks

·        Spraying

·        Mowing

·        Supervision of Temporary Workers

·        Maintenance of equipment

·        Trellis maintenance

·        Landscaping work & maintenance

·        Forklift operations

·        Other duties as required.

 

This job involves working outside in varying weather conditions. You must be able to lift 50 lbs, work on uneven ground, and walk long distances during some workdays. A large amount of physical labour is involved year-round and extended hours are required during the harvest season.

 

This job is full-time and year-round. Vineyard experience and education is an asset. Tractor or heavy machinery experience is an asset. Training and education will be provided to enhance vineyard knowledge and tractor operation skills. Competitive salary and benefits offered based on experience.
