Winemaking and Vineyard Assistant (Wine Jobs: Vineyards & Cellars )

The Winemaking and Vineyard Assistants will work with our Winemaker and Vineyard Supervisor. There is one permanent position and another temporary in beautiful Mill Bay on Vancouver Island. We are looking for someone with educational and/or practical experience and a passion for viticulture and winemaking. The successful candidate will be a team player but also able to work independently and have good communication and organizational skills.

REQUIREMENTS:

-       Valid Drivers License

-       Ability to work flexible hours during peak times with some overtime

-       Able to lift 50 lbs and work in all weather conditions on uneven terrain

Vineyard and Winery Experience in the following areas considered and asset:

-       Tractor and equipment operations and maintenance

-       Vine management, trellis maintenance, cultivation, thinning, pruning, tying, suckering, and canopy management

-       Ferment management, grape processing, pressings, racking, transfers, blending, topping

-       Winemaking equipment usage and maintenance

-       Forklift experience and/or certification

 

 

 

Compensation will depend on experience. After completion of a standard 3 month probationary period the company benefit plan will be available.
