Guest Experience Manager

Maximize sales and revenue, by developing strong relationships with customers, wine club members, and industry professionals showing maritime hospitality as our specialty. Responsibilities of a Guest Experience Manager

·        Hire, train, and manage tasting room staff, ensuring high standards of customer service and product knowledge.

·        Develop and implement sales strategies to increase revenue, including promotions, discounts, and special events.

·        Monitor inventory levels and order wine, merchandise, and supplies as needed.

·        Develop and manage budgets for the tasting room, including sales goals and labor costs.

·        Schedule and coordinate tastings, tours, and other events, ensuring a seamless and enjoyable experience for guests.

·        Maintain a clean and inviting tasting room, including overseeing cleaning and maintenance schedules and ensuring compliance with all health and safety regulations.

·        Develop and maintain relationships with wine club members, VIPs, and other regular customers, providing exceptional customer service and ensuring their loyalty.

·        Keep up-to-date with industry trends, product knowledge, and local industry, making recommendations for improvements and changes to the tasting room experience.

·        Attend trade shows, industry events, and wine/beer tastings to represent us and network with other industry professionals.

·        Identifies opportunities to leverage local relationships/partnerships for future growth

·        Works according to Magnetic Hill Winery’s Employee Handbook

·        Perform other duties as assigned

A day in the life:

·        Be a leader that sets an example and helps the team grow by coaching, inspiring, and mentoring

·        Motivate the team to hit productivity goals and provide top-notch service

·        Ensure the team is handling orders, serving tables, and maintaining an excellent level of service

·        Help train the team to become wine experts

·        Keep the store spick and span, fully stocked, and ready for customers at all times

·        Make sure the team gets inventory and cash management done quickly and efficiently

·        Make sure the guests are happy and that the team is delivering a high-quality experience

·        Adjust the schedule according to business needs and ensure everyone stays productive

·        Monitor how everything is running and make sure we’re meeting our targets

·        Always look professional and maintain a positive attitude

·        Make sure the tasting room follows opening and closing procedures

·        Follow all safety protocols to keep everyone safe

·        Keep learning about wine and share your knowledge with the team

·        Keep accurate records of what we have in stock

·        Be a team player and help out wherever you’re needed

Preferred:

·        Bilingual (French and English) or multi-lingual

·        Post-secondary education or relevant management experience

·        Love dogs! (Magnum and Brix our Australian Shepherds are around for lots of cuddles)

·        High school diploma or GED

·        Self-motivated, entrepreneurial spirit with a high energy level

·        Available to work evenings, weekend and holidays

·        Willingness to complete the Responsible Beverage certificate training

·        Willingness to complete Food Safety Certification

·        Willingness to complete WSET certification

·        Physically fit to meet requirements of lifting 35 lb-50 lb cases of wine, standing for long periods in various environments

·        Be at least 19 years of age

·        Safely adhere to public health and Covid policies and guidelines to maintain a safe environment

Salary: $20-$30 hourly (open to adjustments based off the level of experience of the individual)
