Sebastian Farms is a family owned, vineyard operation growing premium organic grapes for a collection of our wineries throughout the Okanagan Valley. Our operation spans across valley with vineyards located in Lake Country, Kelowna, West Kelowna, Naramata, Oliver, Osoyoos, and the Similkameen Valley. Our viticulture program is dedicated to growing premium quality grapes, infusing sustainability into every aspect of our vineyards, and investing in the Canadian wine region.
A Day in the Life of Our Summer Viti Tech
- Field work and data collection for crop yield forecasting
- Scouting and data collection for our Integrated Pest Management program
- Field work and data collection for assessing vine water status.
- Assist with internal research trials.
- Assist with some aspects of new development.
- Maturity sampling closer to and during harvest
- Petiole and soil sampling as required.
- Office work when needed.
- Flexible schedule to work on weekends occasionally
What You Bring:
- Having or working towards a degree, diploma, or certificate in a certified Viticulture/Oenology or natural sciences program is preferred.
- Must be comfortable working outdoors, working alone, and under various weather conditions. This position is 80/20 outdoors/indoors.
- Reliable and communicative
- Strong communication skills
- Strong attention to detail when collecting and handling data
- Proficient computer skills (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Valid driver's license and transportation
- Genuine interest in wine and viticulture is necessary.
- Ability to operate an ATV or comfortable with learning to do so (training will be provided)
- Self-directed inn performing daily activities, take direction & execute without supervision
- Previous experience in Agcode System is asset
- Must have worked in a vineyard, harvest or any activity
