Position Overview:

Reporting directly to the winery owners, the Retail and Hospitality Manager plays a crucial role in overseeing and enhancing the guest experience at Planters Ridge Winery. The ideal candidate will have a passion for providing exceptional customer service, managing a dynamic team, and fostering a warm and welcoming atmosphere for all visitors.


Key Responsibilities:

Tasting Room  Management:

Provide an exemplary tasting room guest experience including hosting wine tastings, conducting educational tours, sharing knowledge regarding our story, philosophy, wines and vineyards

Manage and lead a small, committed team of full and part time tasting room staff, their duties and productiveness, as well as providing leadership and coaching throughout the year

Coordinate closely with the kitchen team to ensure seamless integration of food service as well as wine offerings.

Oversee the day-to-day operations of the tasting room, including managing staff, scheduling, inventory control, and maintaining cleanliness and presentation standards.

Create and execute strategies to enhance the guest experience, focusing on smooth service and positive interactions in a fast-paced environment.

Work closely with key staff on event planning and execution

Provide support in the customer service aspect of our on-site accommodations, The Stay at Planters Ridge Winery.

Respond to email correspondence

Handle all customer concerns professionally and proactively

Represent winery at off-site events, tastings and venues as required

Comply with all health and safety regulations with assistance of owners

Manage Wine & Barrel Club (logistics, planning, and customer relations) as well as direct to consumer sales

Develop and maintain positive relationships with community partners to drive traffic to the tasting room and enhance the winery's presence in the local area.

Qualifications:

Professional warm and welcoming demeanor with a passion for delivering exceptional customer service.

Three or more years of experience in retail or hospitality management, with a proven ability to lead and motivate a team.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.

Demonstrated ability to work independently and be resourceful when solving problems.

Tech-savvy and the ability to adapt to new technologies as needed.

Experience working within the wine industry considered an asset


Basic knowledge of digital marketing, photography, videography, and social media is considered an asset.

Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.

Starting Salary Range is $48,000-$55,000, depending on experience
