Seasonal Tasting Room Associate (Wine Jobs: Wine Retail & Sommelier)

Work in the heart of Prince Edward County’s wine country with Rosehall Run Vineyards. Established in 2001, Rosehall Run Vineyards is one the foundations of the Prince Edward County wine scene, and one of the most acclaimed estates in Canada. Summary of Daily tasks

- Serving guests while providing insight on the wines, the history of Rosehall Run, and the Prince Edward County region.

- Providing an exceptional level of customer service and product knowledge when helping guests pick the right wines for purchase or tasting

- Assisting with regular cleanliness, upkeep, and product restocking of the tasting room area

- Identifying key client bases and work towards converting them to regular clients via club memberships

- Assisting in the planning and execution of occasional on and off-site winery events

- Interacting regularly with our tasting room POS devices, along with our electronic booking calendar

- Encouraging a positive environment of inclusivity and support

 

Job Requirements:

-Must be 18+

-Must have Smart Serve Certification and Safe Food Handling training. (financial support available for certifications)

-Experience in the service or hospitality industry, ideally experience in dealing with wine.

-Comfortable standing and being mobile for long periods of the day, and able to lift 45 lbs.

-Able to work summer weekends and holidays during peak season (May- October)

-Familiarity with hospitality POS systems and booking software.

-Punctuality, diligence, and a knack for problem solving.

-A passion for all things wine, from soil to bottle

 

Other useful skills:

-French comprehension

-Wine-specific education such as WSET training

-First Aid Training

-Forklift training
