Retail Sales Representative (Wine Jobs: Sales & Marketing)

Halpern Enterprises is looking for a Retail Sales Representative to join our team, as our In-Store representative in Toronto and Muskoka. With over 60 years in the business, we are one of the country's leading importers of fine wine - with over 120+ wineries in our portfolio from both the new and old world. We require a self-starter who is able to work with minimum direction while having the desire to come up with constructive ideas and to implement them. We are looking for someone interested in being a genuine ambassador for our products.

 

Essential Job Functions:

-Provide direct customer service to LCBO stores by informing them of products and services.

-Schedule and attend In-Store LCBO tastings.

-Service existing accounts and establish new accounts by planning and organizing daily work schedules to call on existing or potential stores.

-Create and execute appropriate strategic plans to bring in more business.

-Research sources in order to develop new business connections.

-Make cold calls to LCBO stores to inform them about new products and promotions.

-Meet individual and company sales targets.

-Keep management informed by submitting activity and results reports, daily call reports, weekly work plans and monthly and annual territory analyses.

-Monitor competition by gathering current marketplace information on pricing, products, new products, delivery schedules, merchandising techniques, etc.

-Recommends changes in products, service, and policy by evaluating results and competitive developments.

-Both embody and create company culture

-Investigate lost sales and customer complaints or discrepancies.

-Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks and participating in professional societies.

 

 

Requirements:

-High school and/or GED; Bachelor's Degree preferred in business/marketing or hospitality and tourism management

-At minimum one year of prior sales experience

-Must be at least 19 years of age

-Must have Smart Serve certification

-Must have a valid Ontario driver's license, clean driving record and have full time access to a vehicle

- Exceptional interpersonal and relationship-building skills

- Proven aptitude for sales and customer service

- Professional demeanor, selling style and appearance

- Basic understanding of wine regions, production and evaluation

- Positive and enthusiastic personality
