JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Summary:
These positions will report to the Ontario Sales Manager and will be integrated into the provincial sales operations of the CH Ontario sales teams. The Portfolio Specialist (PS) will be responsible for maintaining a comprehensive knowledge of the complete Moet Hennessy portfolio of wine and spirits. They will be responsible for assisting or orchestrating the sales teams in training, best practices, on and off premises events, trade shows, and promotional events. Each position will have their own assigned territory which can encompass both on and off premises accounts in order to expand the sales base for the MH portfolio while leveraging the scope of the CH portfolio to optimise synergies and cost effectiveness. The Portfolio Specialist is responsible for the execution of marketing activities, product distribution, product activations and the achievement of sales results for the range of brands of MH in their assigned territory and shares responsibility in the total sales performance of the region. The Portfolio Specialist will also be responsible for achieving specific KPI’s directly related to sales.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The position requires frequent evening work in addition to the normal daytime related job functions which are predominantly in the field with some minor time required for office related duties. Additionally, the PS will also be periodically required to work weekends at specific events. Some level of domestic and international travel is also incumbent with this position. The role includes:
· Executing the provincial marketing/sales plans with the CH sales teams for all MH brands consistent with the guidelines provided by the General Manager of MH Canada and National Brand Managers. Develop new on and off premise accounts within assigned territory;
· Developing product distribution and activations of Moet Hennessy Brands in the Retail/On Trade and corporate channels in the assigned territory;
· Collaborating with the RMM’s, region VP, Sales Manager and the entire sales team, to assist in training, or development of accounts, and establish best practices;
· Developing the core MH portfolio brands strategic account lists for on-premises, retail, and boutique accounts in the assigned territory and assist with the sales team and ensure that quarterly updates of listing status are maintained;
· Collaborating with the RMM and the sales team to determine the required input of resources to be allocated to core and targeted on and off premises accounts and track spending plans versus planned objectives in the territory;
· Implementing National PR and RMM strategies and marketing activities with events that reflect National brand initiatives and priorities;
· Responsibility for operating within assigned overall budget allocations for MH brand spending in the territory, ensuring the proper monitoring of all spends and corrective actions when required;
· Becoming proficient with the portfolio of MH products developing product knowledge and sales expertise and becoming a training and information resource for the Ontario sales team, accounts, targeted high-net worth-individual groups, or other clients of the complete MH portfolio of brands. Training of product knowledge of the entire CH portfolio will also occur;
Job Requirements:
Bachelor degree or higher, (Commerce, Marketing, Business Administration majors preferred), with 3 or more years’ job experience directly relevant to the sale of luxury goods;
· 3 years of sales experience;
· WSET level 2 or higher;
· Strong presentation and negotiating skills for diverse audiences;
· Available for frequent evening and weekend events (sometimes on short notice), both local and international travel – valid passport required;
· Strong analytical, organisation and multi-tasking capabilities, able to meet tight deadlines;
· Strong level of IT related skills, strong PowerPoint and Excel knowledge and preferably a working knowledge of the CH Cellar and other reporting tools;
· Demonstrated ability to multi task, set priorities, negotiate, make presentations, and work as a team player with a diverse universe of related parties is a must;
· A flair for creative thinking and innovation in developing brand or customer business solutions;
· Established trade contacts both on and off premises;
· Valid Driver’s License;
