Croatia Unpacked (CU) is a boutique wine import agency, established in 2020, with a mission to seek out and import the very best selection of wines and spirits primarily from Croatia, but also from other countries across Central Europe.
We are small team who is deeply passionate about “unsung” wines and hidden gems from “new” old world wine destinations, with a goal to firmly establish these on the Ontario map. Working primarily with smaller acclaimed producers and indigenous grapes, we aspire for every wine we import to be truly representative of the region it comes from, and to tell the story of the people, the place, and the terroir.
Building on our success to-date, we are looking to expand our team with the hire of a part-time licensee sales rep, to continue to grow our presence across licensee establishments in Toronto.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Accountable for sales within Toronto.
- Identify and onboard new licensee accounts in Toronto.
- Maintain and increase sales within defined existing accounts.
- Develop and manage relationships with licensee accounts & leads.
- Lead education events & tastings with licensee customers and their teams.
- Attend trade events as required.
- Manage accounts payables to within 30 calendar days.
- Submit weekly reporting on sales, leads, targets, account management, payables, etc.
- Participate in and support marketing and social media activities.
- Work collaboratively with the rest of the CU sales team.
- Occasional need to work evenings, weekends / holidays for events & tastings.
Requirements
- Network
- An established network amongst Toronto licensees.
- Knowledge of the Toronto dining scene including new openings / opportunities.
- Private Client network an asset.
- Capabilities
- Excellent overall communication skills in both written and spoken English.
- Comfortable to make cold calls.
- Strong planning & organizational skills, and good attention to detail.
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record & a dependable / insured vehicle.
- Ability to lift / move wine cases (12 bottles).
- Have and/or develop a thorough understanding of our portfolio, including tasting profiles, the stories behind the wineries, etc.
- Personality
- Passionate & inquisitive about wine, especially indigenous grapes and emerging wine regions.
- Self-starter and highly motivated.
- Out-of-the box thinker able to develop new sales and marketing initiatives.
Education and experience
- Post-secondary level education.
- 3 + years wine sales experience.
- Smart Serve Certified.
- CMS, WSET or CAPS Certification an asset.
Compensation & Expenses
Initial 6 months contract with guaranteed monthly fee, with opportunity to earn sales commission on top if sales targets are met.
- 3 days per week minimum.
- Monthly expense budget for business essential expenses, including fuel, parking & account management expenses.
At the end of the initial 6-month contract, opportunity to enter a longer-term agreement.

- Corporate laptop.
- Opportunity to visit Croatia / Central Europe to expand knowledge and experience.
