Vancouver Island Sales Associate -
BCwineshop – Established in 1998 - Specializing in, premium, boutique BC wines. We are passionate about the wine we sell and the style in which it is presented. Our perspective on wine is both global and regional, promoting true wine appreciation on all levels. Our goal is to build and progressively develop wine appreciation with both the industry and the consumer.
Established, long standing BC Wine Agency is seeking an experienced, self sufficient, goal orientated, well connected, motivated wine sales representative to promote our BC Wine portfolio on Vancouver Island. As a sales representative you will be responsible for the creation and management of relationships with clients, while promoting the products in the portfolio and successfully meeting the expectations set by the company (manager). The sales responsibility would be in both on premise and private retail accounts, focusing on premium wine placement.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain strong business relationships with accounts
- Grow distribution of brands into new and existing accounts
- Observe market conditions and advise manager as needed
- Support marketing initiatives by working trade shows and other events as needed
- Create brand excitement and purchasing intent with wine knowledge and winery stories
- Analyze chain & store level opportunities by location to maximize sales strategy
- Secure by-the-glass and by-the-bottle placements in chain on-premise
- Provide our customers with effective post placement sales support through product activation, education and other activities as needed
- Host winery principles and suppliers with the utmost enthusiasm and professionalism with strategic, in market visits
- Work collaboratively with our marketing, accounting, sales and logistics teams
- A willingness and desire to solve problems and multitask
- Possess excellent communication and time management skills
- Computer literacy and comfort with modern office software
- Report to – Sales Manager/Director
Experience
• Preferred sales experience in the wine industry 2-3 Years, both in retail channels and on premise
• WSET or similar training is a major asset
• Efficient Microsoft Word &Excel
• Valid Drivers license
• Be able to lift 30-40 pounds
