KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES
-Achieving annual sales targets – case volume (by brand) and distribution targets (retail and licensee) for our wines & spirits in the defined territory.
-Executing retail promotions and displays, managing inventory levels in retail stores in the defined territory for VWWS’s family of brands.
-Managing all retail shelf sets within assigned territory in accordance with company standards and retailer regulations.
-Executing on-premise promotions with targeted licensee accounts and key accounts.
-Effective budget spending and tracking to ensure you stay within the defined promotional budget.
-Ensure that all promotional and Point-of-Sale materials are used effectively.
-Responsible for the entire VWWS portfolio with particular emphasis placed on the growth of sales of highlighted wines & spirits in the Company’s portfolio.
-To professionally represent the Company with the customers in the market to improve distribution levels, shelf space, display and feature (on premise) activity.
-Undertake, as required, various promotional activities, such as tastings, presentations to members of the trade and consumers, and attendance at special promotions, such as wine festivals, dinners etc.
-Submitting required sales trackers weekly and admin paperwork on the required deadlines.
-Provide management with market intelligence including sales trends, product developments and competitor activity and their achievements.
-Always demonstrate a commitment to driving sales and volume of VWWSs products.
-Ensure that all activities are conducted within the Provincial and Federal laws and regulations - particularly those related to trade practices.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, experience and/or abilities required.
-Broad wine & spirits knowledge – basic understanding with confidence to conduct product education seminars. WSET 2 or higher.
-University or College degree or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; or two to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
-Minimum 2 years sales experience.
-Strong achievement orientation with a commitment to delivering business results.
-Strong customer orientation, possessing strong negotiation and mediation skills with the ability to motivate others to achieve mutually beneficial sales objectives.
-Strong team player, demonstrating the ability to maintain positive work atmosphere by communicating and working effectively with clients, management, peers, and subordinates.
-Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to speak and present to key decision makers and customers both internally and externally.
-Must be able to travel as necessary to be physically present at events or meetings.
-Must be a person of high integrity and commitment and possess a strong work ethic.
-Ability to manage tasks and to exercise independent judgment without supervision.
-Strong analytical skills – ability to analyze sales trends in the territory and use the information to make sound business decisions and incorporate into account pitches.
-Excellent organization skills and detailed oriented.
-Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
WORK ENVIRONMENT: The physical demands described below are representative to successfully perform the essential job functions. The following percentages are given in terms of an eight-hour workday.
-Occasional delivery of samples weighing approx. 40lbs.
-Occasional travel – combination of vehicle and air. Very limited air travel for most sales reps.
-Home based office.
-80% of time in the field - Will require walking, standing, bending, and lifting.
-20% of time divided between meetings, presentations, and desk work – will require long periods of sitting.
