Full Time Lower Mainland Sales Representative or Agency
Northern Lights Estate Winery is BC’s largest fruit winery and one of the fastest growing wineries in the province. Currently producing over 10,000 cases per year and with plans to more than double production, the winery is currently expanding sales to private restaurants and liquor stores in the Lower Mainland Region. The winery is looking to partner with an agency or hire a private sales representative to develop this territory and work with our internal team to promote the product throughout the region. The successful candidate or group must be self driven, sales oriented, professional, and experienced in the industry. They must have a welcoming personality that can develop relationships and help partners be successful selling our products. They must be a problem solver that works with our internal sales and marketing team to focus our efforts and build comprehensive data to help further the brand.
The fruit wine industry is small but growing rapidly thanks to the new styles of fruit wines that have similar body, tannin, complexity, and acidity to traditional grape wines but with new bold flavours that appeal to a new wine drinking demographic. Northern Lights Winery has won numerous awards for its wines including the best of BC varietal award 3 years in a row. To sell these products you need to know the ins and outs of the industry including regulations and be very organized. The successful candidate will operate from a home office but will spend most working days meeting clients at their stores or restaurant.
The successful candidate will need to support the business in the following ways:
§ Learn about our winery’s products in depth
§ Learn and abide by BCLDB rules and regulations
§ Can Work independently while following the guidance and requirements of the direct supervisor
§ Visit and develop relationships with 100+ liquor store and restaurant locations
§ Gather sales orders from clients and enter sales into applicable systems
§ Attend and participate in industry tastings
§ Gather and report on data as requested by the sales manager
§ Work a flexible schedule to fit clients needs as well as participate in tastings for clients as directed and set out in the companies marketing plan.
The successful candidate is preferred to have the following Experience
§ 2 years or more of sales experience in an autonomous role meeting clients outside of a business
§ Experience with wines in a retail or winery setting completing tastings for clients
§ General wine knowledge including an understanding of common brands, styles, regions, terroirs, and more.
§ Has education or experience and is comfortable working with technology and programs such as Excell, word, and CRM Software
§ Has a vehicle in good working condition and valid drivers licence
§ Can lift and carry more than 40 lbs repeatedly throughout the day.
§ WSET or wine education is preferred.
Compensation will be commission based and based on experience and service provided.
