In close collaboration with internal stakeholders, the Market Analyst will identify key selling opportunities, compile and analyze data reports, and provide insights that guide business decisions in evolving market conditions. Reporting to the Vice President of Marketing, this role supports the Portfolio Management department and the wineries represented.
To succeed in this role, you must be a data-driven, wine-passionate individual with strong organizational and analytical skills. Ideal candidates will have a competitive spirit, a desire to win, and the ability to work cross-functionally with all departments.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Collect and clean data from EZ Focus, ensuring data quality and integrity.
· Analyze large datasets to identify trends and correlations.
· Present insights in a clear and concise manner.
· Identify opportunities for process improvement through data analysis.
· Stay updated with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in data analytics.
· Collaborate with the BI team to prepare data sets for analysis.
· Compile, analyze, and present monthly sales reports to key suppliers.
· Assist in preparing presentations for Quarterly Business Reviews.
· Conduct competitive price and promotion surveys and provide key price and investment recommendations.
· Manage pricing submissions, tracking, and automation.
· Compile and track registrations, ensuring automation where possible.
· Perform tender analysis and provide white space / category recommendations.
· Work with cross-functional teams to define metrics, goals, and strategies for data-driven decision-making.
· Handle administrative tasks associated with the VP and DM of Marketing.
Position Requirements:
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel and PowerPoint).
· Advanced Excel data analysis skills.
· Strong understanding of industry and category dynamics.
· Self-starter and highly motivated.
· Ability to analyze and interpret data effectively.
· Creative and innovative approach to business challenges.
· Knowledge of design programs and an eye for simple design work.
· Strong organizational skills and ability to meet tight deadlines.
· Excellent oral and written communication skills, with strong presentation abilities.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
· Beverage industry experience.
· Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and data integrity.
· Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, effectively managing multiple priorities.
· Proficiency in Power BI and SQL is an asset.
· WSET Level 2 or equivalent is an asset.
· Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field is an asset.
· Four years of analytical experience, preferably in CPG is an asset.
