Sales Manager (Wine Jobs: Sales & Marketing)

In this role, the candidate will be responsible for the management and growth of domestic sales and optimize inventory sell through. Specifically, the candidate will manage provincial sales agency representatives and develop new initiatives and strategies for increased market share.  The Sales Manager will also be directly responsible for LDB & VQA product distribution and sales through the implementation of store calls, visits and pourings. Organization and participation in events are expected on some evenings and weekends including the opportunity for travel.

 

 

 

Responsibilities:
SALES:

·         Regular communication with provincial sales agency representatives in BC & Alberta

·         Weekly sales calls to LDB & VQA stores to increase product distribution and sell through

·         Take & process orders and ensure timely & efficient product distribution

·         Organize and initiate participation in product demonstrations/pouring and events

·         Work directly with the Marketing Manager to access the needs for each distribution channel

·         Evaluate trends and recognize opportunities to improve and grow market share in Canada

 

INVENTORY:

·         Monitor Inventory Levels through all Provincial Bodies (LDB, AB, MB, NB, Yukon)

·         Support warehouse teams with order processing and inventory reconciliation

·         Evaluate inventory needs based on current & historical sales for production input

 

ADMINISTRATION:

·         Review and prepare inventory and sales reports with use of Excel, Word, Sales Litre & Simply

·         Participate in team meetings, events and co-ordinate event registration

·         Complete and submit sales reports in a timely fashion

 

Skills:

·         Successful candidates will have a strong understanding of the BC wine industry

·         Possess a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a sales management role

·         Preference will be given to candidates with accredited wine education and experience with Sales Litre

·         Self-motivated, effective time management and strong organization skills

·         Work independently and as part of an interactive and growing team

·         Set and execute personal sales expectations and performance

 

 

Requirements:

·         Serving it Right Certification

·         Valid Driver’s License and a vehicle in good working order 

·         Candidates must be in good health and be able to carry 40lbs (a case of wine) as part of this position and be able to travel for business activities and provincial events.

·         A love of wine

Compensation will commensurate with industry experience and include competitive financial incentives. A vehicle allowance will be offered as part of this role. Office and administrative support, and a phone allowance will be provided.
