Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced General Manager to oversee the operations of our new Vine Arts Edmonton location opening fall of 2023. As the General Manager, the succesful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of the store, including sales, inventory management, customer service, staff supervision, and financial performance. Your role will be pivotal in ensuring a seamless and exceptional shopping experience for our valued customers, while driving the store's growth and profitability.
Responsibilities:

Operations Management:
- Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring smooth and efficient store functioning.
- Develop and implement operational policies and procedures to optimize productivity and enhance customer satisfaction.
- Monitor and maintain high standards of visual merchandising, cleanliness, and organization within the store.

Sales and Customer Service:
- Drive sales growth by developing and executing effective sales strategies and promotional initiatives.
- Provide exceptional customer service, resolving inquiries, and addressing customer concerns promptly.
- Train and motivate the sales team to achieve sales targets and deliver exceptional customer experiences.

Inventory Management:
- Maintain accurate inventory records, ensuring optimal stock levels and minimizing product shrinkage.
- Monitor product trends and customer preferences to make informed purchasing decisions.
- Collaborate with suppliers to negotiate favorable pricing, discounts, and promotional opportunities.

Staff Supervision and Development:
- Recruit, train, and supervise store staff, ensuring a high-performing and customer-focused team.
- Set performance targets, conduct regular performance evaluations, and provide constructive feedback.
- Foster a positive work environment, promoting teamwork, motivation, and professional development.

Financial Management:
- Develop and manage the store's annual budget, monitoring financial performance and implementing cost-control measures.
- Analyze sales data, market trends, and financial reports to identify opportunities for growth and improvement.
- Maximize profitability by optimizing pricing strategies, product assortment, and operational efficiencies.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a General Manager or similar role in the retail industry, preferably in liquor/wine/spirits retail.
- Strong knowledge and passion for alcoholic beverages, including a familiarity with various types, brands, and trends.
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse team.
- Exceptional customer service skills and a dedication to creating a positive shopping experience.
- Strong business acumen and financial management skills, including budgeting and financial analysis.
- Proficient in inventory management systems and point-of-sale (POS) software.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
