Tawse Winery is a family-owned, certified organic winery nestled on the Niagara Escarpment. With over 100 acres of estate vineyards and a commitment to excellence, our portfolio features world-class Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Riesling, Cabernet Franc—as well as a substantial traditional method sparkling wine program. We also craft wines for our sister winery, Redstone, and together produce around 30,000 cases annually.
We’re looking for a passionate and reliable Cellar Hand to join our production team full-time. The ideal candidate is experienced, motivated, and ready to take on a dynamic role in a fast-paced winery environment. Schedule
- January to August: Mon–Thurs 8am–5pm, Friday 8am–12pm
- Harvest (typically Sept–Dec): Extended hours and up to 6 days/week
Compensation & Benefits
- $20–$23 per hour, based on experience

Key Responsibilities
You’ll be involved in all aspects of cellar operations, including but not limited to:
- Winery sanitation, maintenance, and equipment care
- Packaging: bottling, canning, disgorging, kegging, pasteurizing, and bag-in-box
- Barrel work: filling, emptying, sanitation
- Additions and wine/cider/spirit transfers
- Filtration, racking, and pump operations
- Forklift and light truck operation (training available)
- Sample collection, accurate documentation, and housekeeping
- Inventory support and inter-warehouse logistics
Additional Harvest Responsibilities
- Receive, sort, and process fruit
- Operate destemmers, presses, and related equipment
- Perform pumpovers, punchdowns, and digging out fermenters
- Cleaning, maintaining, and sanitizing harvest equipment
- Flexibility to work longer days and additional days as needed (overtime paid after 44 hours/week)

Qualifications
- Previous cellar experience preferred
- Degree or diploma in Oenology and Viticulture is an asset
- Strong communication and ability to follow procedures
- Physically capable of lifting 20kg and working on your feet
- Forklift experience and G-class licence are assets
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada
