Tawse Winery is a family-owned, certified organic winery nestled on the Niagara Escarpment. With over 100 acres of estate vineyards and a commitment to excellence, our portfolio features world-class Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Riesling, and Cabernet Franc—as well as a substantial traditional method sparkling wine program. We also craft wines for our sister winery, Redstone, and together produce around 30,000 cases annually.
We’re seeking a full-time Laboratory and Admin Technician to join our production team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and brings a mix of curiosity, organizational skills, and a calm, adaptable mindset. Schedule
January to August: Mon–Thurs 8am–5pm, Friday 8am–12pm
Harvest (typically Sept–Dec): Extended hours and up to 6 days/week
Compensation & Benefits
- $21-25 per hour, based on experience

Key Responsibilities
Lab Work
- Run and interpret analysis on juice by wet chemistry, spectrophotometer, and our Anton Paar Lyza
- Prepare and perform winemaking trials (fining, blending, stabilization, etc.)
- Monitor fermentations and perform sampling and analysis at all winemaking stages
- Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment; ensure lab cleanliness and organization
- Document results, report trends or concerns to the winemaking team
- Enter and manage data within our winemaking software
- Prepare samples for VQA, tasting panels, and other projects as required
Administrative Support
- Manage winemaking software (Vinsight or similar), ensuring accurate data entry and tracking
- Support winemaker with awards submissions, and compliance documentation
- Create and maintain technical sheets and product documentation
- Help coordinate bottling and packaging requirements as needed
- Take on additional projects to help streamline production and reduce administrative workload for the winemaking team

Qualifications
- Diploma or degree in winemaking, food science, or a related field
- 1–2 years of experience in a winery or food/beverage lab preferred
- Experience with laboratory instrumentation and data entry
- Excellent computer skills (Excel, winemaking software, data management)
- Comfortable lifting 20kg and working on your feet
- Willingness to work longer hours and weekends during harvest
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada and reside locally
